CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 1,125 new cases of coronavirus and 42 more virus-related fatalities were reported Wednesday across Georgia by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 864,895 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 17,072. In Floyd County, there were 9,888 confirmed cases and 177 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 84,763, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 1,237.

As of the most recent update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard on Wednesday, 4,948,242 vaccines have been administered across the state; 31 percent of all Georgians have had at least their first dose, while 18 percent have been fully vaccinated.
