BRAVES AVOID SWEEP BY MARLINS WITH EXCITING VICTORY AT TRUIST PARK

The Atlanta Braves beat the Miami Marlins 7-6 on Thursday afternoon in the finale of a four-game series at Truist Park, which allowed the Braves to avoid being swept by the Marlins and finish their first homestand of ’21 with a total of three wins and four losses.

Dansby Swanson had a walk-off single to lift Atlanta to victory in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Ronald Acuna Jr hit a two-run homer in the fifth. Pablo Sandoval contributed a pinch-hit, three-run shot in the sixth.

Reliever Tyler Matzek was credited as the winning pitcher for Atlanta. Dylan Floro took the loss for Miami.

The Braves will open up a three-game series in Chicago against the Cubs this afternoon. The first pitch is set for 2:20 pm at Wrigley Field. The game will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 1:05 pm from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.
