FLOYD COUNTY CASA (COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES) JOIN LOCAL OBSERVATION OF CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH

Floyd County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is participating in the annual observance of Child Abuse Prevention Month in April.

Lynne Barton, Recruitment and Training Coordinator, asserts that CASA and many other organizations are poised to assist those who want to prevent child abuse in Rome and Floyd County.

CAP Month is spearheaded locally by the Exchange Club’s Family Resource Center. Their slate of activities includes the inaugural Glow Walk this Friday night. For information, visit the FRC’s Facebook page.

CASA has remained active amid the pandemic training new volunteers to be advocates for abused, neglected, or abandoned children during juvenile court proceedings. Barton states that her organization just recently re-opened their office to the public.
