CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

Just 725 new cases of coronavirus were reported across Georgia on Monday by the state Department of Public Health, in addition to 27 more virus-related deaths. Two of those fatalities were here in Floyd County.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 869,590 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 17,241. In Floyd County, there were 9,909 confirmed cases and 180 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 85,282, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 1,252.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard on Monday afternoon, 5,361,189 vaccines have been administered across the state; 32 percent of all Georgians have had at least a dose of the vaccine, while 20 percent have been fully vaccinated.
