Local baseball fans eagerly anticipate hearing the words “Play Ball” again at State Mutual Stadium, home of the Rome Braves. The team will hit the field in May after their 2020 season was called off due to coronavirus.
David Cross, General Manager, attests that crews have been working hard to prepare for the upcoming season. Upgrades around the stadium include a new scoreboard, in addition to expansions to the retail store and clubhouse. Cross indicates that the Terrace is getting a makeover, too.
Rome advances as the Atlanta Braves’ High-A minor league affiliate in 2021. Cross asserts that he used to work for the team against whom the Braves will open up their season (on the road) on May 4th, the Winston-Salem Dash.
The Braves’ home opener is scheduled for Tuesday, May 18th at State Mutual Stadium versus Bowling Green. Single game tickets for the 2021 season are now on sale. For more information, visit www.romebraves.com.
