The Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia continues to lead the local observance of Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April.
Kimberly King, Executive Director, says that the center has been conducting a program called Teal Ribbons on Patrol Cars with law enforcement agencies around the area. This is a simple project, she adds, but it is impactful towards raising awareness of sexual assault.
The center will team up with Harbor House – The Northwest Georgia Child Advocacy Center to host the Walk to Support Survivors on Friday, April 30th in downtown Rome. That organization’s Executive Director, Joe Costolnick, indicates that he supports the observations of both Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month in April.
SAC staff and board members have also taken to social media to express their support of sexual assault survivors, asserts King, who urges the public to visit the Sexual Assault Center of NWGA pages on Facebook and Instagram.
