CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 922 new cases of coronavirus and 64 more virus-related fatalities were reported in Georgia on Wednesday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 877,816 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 17,486. In Floyd County, there were 9,961 confirmed cases and 182 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 86,089, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 1,266.

As of the most recent update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard on Wednesday, 5,970,500 vaccines have been administered across the state; 34 percent of all Georgians have had at least a dose of the vaccine, while 24 percent have been fully vaccinated.
