BRAVES DENIED SWEEP OF CUBS, FINISH HOMESTAND 4-3

The Atlanta Braves fell to the Chicago Cubs 9-3 on Thursday evening in the finale of a four-game set at Truist Park, which denied the Braves a sweep of the Cubs.

Bryse Wilson took the loss for Atlanta after surrendering four runs and seven hits, walking two, and striking out one over just three innings. Adbert Alzolay was credited as the winning pitcher for Chicago.

Highlights for the Braves included a lead-off home run by Marcell Ozuna off Alzolay in the bottom of the sixth inning.

The Braves finished their homestand with four wins and three losses. They’ll be in Dunedin, Florida to face the Toronto Blue Jays in a three-game set over the weekend. First pitch of tonight’s opener is slated for 7:37 pm. The game will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 6:20 pm from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.
