CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 1,068 new cases of coronavirus and 51 more virus-related fatalities were reported across Georgia on Thursday by the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 878,827 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 17,534. In Floyd County, there were 9,964 confirmed cases and 183 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s h ighest number of confirmed cases with 86,171, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 1,271.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard on Thursday evening, 6,054,840 vaccines have been administered across the state; 34 percent of all Georgians have had at least a dose of the vaccine, while 25 percent have been fully vaccinated.
