MASS VACCINATION SITES NOW ALLOW DRIVE-UPS FOR THE JOHNSON AND JOHNSON COVID-19 VACCINE

As of today (Monday, May 3rd) all eight mass vaccination sites operated by the Georgia Emergency Management/Homeland Security Agency will allow drive-ups with no appointment necessary for Johnson and Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine. Sites will offer the single-dose J&J vaccine as available to those who haven’t received the first dose of a different vaccine until site operations cease on May 21st. Pfizer second doses will be available at these sites via an appointment, which may be made at www.MyVaccineGeorgia.com. There is a mass vaccination site located right here in Northwest Georgia at LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson.

Just 669 new cases of coronavirus and no virus-related deaths were reported in Georgia on Sunday by the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 881,498 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 17,578. In Floyd County, there were 9,977 confirmed cases and 184 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 86,381, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 1,274.

As of the most recent update to the DPH vaccine dashboard Sunday evening, 6,134,012 vaccines have been administered across the state; 35 percent of all Georgians have had at least a dose of the vaccine, while 25 percent have been fully vaccinated.
