CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

Just 579 new cases of coronavirus and 15 virus-related deaths were reported in Georgia on Monday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 882,074 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 17,593. In Floyd County, there were 9,978 confirmed cases and 184 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 86,447, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 1,276.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard on Monday, 6,246,017 vaccines have been administered statewide; 35 percent of Georgians have had at least a dose of the vaccine, while 26 percent have been fully vaccinated.
