YNOA HITS GRAND SLAM IN ATLANTA BRAVES’ WIN OVER THE WASHINGTON NATIONALS; ROME BRAVES OPEN 2021 SEASON IN VICTORIOUS FASHION

The Atlanta Braves defeated the Washington Nationals 6-1 on Tuesday night in the opener of a three-game set at Nationals Park in Washington DC, which allowed the Braves to snap a four-game losing skid.

Highlights included a grand slam from starting pitcher Huascar Ynoa in the top of the sixth inning.

Ynoa was credited with the win after giving up one run (unearned) and four hits, walking two, and striking out four over seven innings.

Ronald Acuna Jr. got the Braves on the board with a solo home run in the top of the fifth; he now leads the MLB in homeruns with 10 on the ’21 season.

The Braves will face the Nationals again tonight. The NL East battle is slated for 7:05 pm and will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 5:50 pm.

And down on the farm – the Rome Braves opened up their long-awaited 2021 season with a win over the Winston-Salem Dash 11-5 on Tuesday night up in Winston-Salem, NC. The teams will meet again tonight at 7 pm.
