BACON FEST 2021 AND CAR SHOW SET FOR THIS SATURDAY AT ROLATER PARK IN CAVE SPRING

Bacon Fest will return to Rolater Park in Cave Spring this Saturday, May 8th from 10 am to 3 pm. It will be accompanied by a Car Show.

Missey Gomez, a volunteer with the Cave Spring Downtown Development Authority, says that she is excited that Bacon Fest is back in 2021 after it was cancelled last year due to coronavirus.

Event highlights will include a bacon tasting that starts at 11 am. Cooks will compete for cash prizes, says Gomez.

There will also be arts and crafts for sale, live entertainment to include square dancers, and kids’ activities.

Admission is $5; kids ages 12 and under will be admitted for free. The cost to participate in the Car Show is $25 (includes admission to Bacon Fest ’21); every car entry will get an event t-shirt. Car owners are encouraged to head to the park between 8 am and 10 am.

Proceeds from Bacon Fest 2021 and the Car Show will go towards the Cave Spring DDA’s efforts to beautify and promote their community.

Gomez encourages event attendees to visit Cave Spring businesses while they are in town.

In addition, Gomez hopes that visitors will check out Cave Spring’s cave this weekend; it has re-opened after being closed for more than a year because of the pandemic.
