CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 757 new cases of coronavirus and 21 more virus-related fatalities were reported across Georgia on Tuesday by the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 887,443 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 17,722. The number of confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic totaled 10,019 in Floyd County, which has additionally had 186 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s largest number of confirmed cases with 86,849, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 1,287.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard on Tuesday, 6,630,858 vaccines have been administered statewide; 36 percent of Georgians have had at least a dose of the vaccine, while 29 percent have been fully vaccinated.
