ATLANTA BRAVES BESTED AGAIN BY TORONTO BLUE JAYS AT TRUIST PARK; ROME BRAVES RAINED OUT IN GREENSBORO, NC

The Atlanta Braves fell to the Toronto Blue Jays 4-1 on Wednesday evening in game two of a three-game interleague set at Truist Park. That allowed the Blue Jays to take a 2-0 lead in that series, along with a 5-0 lead in the season series between the teams.

The Braves jumped on the board first in the bottom of the fifth inning with a solo home run from William Contreras off of Hyun Jin Ryu.

But the Jays tied it up on an RBI double by Marcus Semien in the top of the sixth. They broke that tie on a solo home run from Teoscar Hernandez in the seventh. Hernandez added a two-run shot in the ninth.

Atlanta starting pitcher Max Fried gave up just one run and two hits, walked three, and struck out four in six innings. Reliever Luke Jackson took the loss. Ryu picked up the win, while AJ Cole got the save for Toronto.

The Braves will wrap up their series against the Blue Jays (and their six game homestand) this afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 12:20 pm. The outing will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 11:05 am.

In a minor league update, the Rome Braves game that had been scheduled for Wednesday versus the Greensboro Grasshoppers has been postponed because of inclement weather in Greensboro, North Carolina. It will be made up as a part of a double header today at 5 pm.
