IN PERSON EVENTS HAVE RESUMED IN ROME/FLOYD COUNTY! TOURISM OFFICE REP SAYS STATE OF TOURISM LOOKS GOOD AT THIS TIME

In person events have resumed in Rome and Floyd County! Kristi Kent, the Director of Communications for the Georgia’s Rome Office of Tourism, says that she’s especially excited about the return of the First Friday concert series hosted by Rome’s Downtown Development Authority; that will get underway in June. In addition, the Spirit of the Sun Festival will return on June 5th; that is being sponsored by River Dog Outpost and Paddle Company to benefit the Coosa River Basin Initiative. The details on these and other upcoming events are featured on the tourism office’s website at www.romegeorgia.org.

The slate of activities in the coming weeks also includes the Cave Spring Arts Festival on June 12th and 13th, the Between the Rivers Farmers Market on the first and third Saturday of every month through September, and tours offered by the tourism office to include Downtown History, Rome’s Clocktower, and Rome’s rivers.

Kent attests that the state of tourism looks good right now as more and more events that were cancelled last year have been rescheduled for this year.

Efforts are being made to get more ‘heads in beds’ at local hotels; the tourism office is funded by hotel-motel tax.
