VINTAGE WARBIRDS PART OF LOCAL MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND EVENTS

This Memorial Day weekend is anticipated to be eventful in Rome and Floyd County, with graduations, baseball games, special Memorial Day ceremonies, and other events.

Kristi Kent, the Director of Communications for the Georgia’s Rome Office of Tourism, urges locals to check out the vintage warbirds over at the Russell Regional Airport that will be part of the Museum of Flight’s Open House this Saturday, May 29th. Information is available at www.romegeorgia.org.

This warbird event will be led by the most iconic aircraft of World War II, the B-17 Flying Fortress. Warbird flights and cockpit tours will additionally take place today, Sunday and Monday.
