AAA: GEORGIA’S GAS PRICES DIPPED SLIGHTLY LAST WEEK

Georgia’s gas prices dropped slightly last week, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group. Sunday’s state average was $2.91 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline. That’s two cents less than last week, 22 cents more than last month, and $1.16 more than this time last year.

It now costs $43.65 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline; that’s $6.75 more than what motorists paid in January 2020, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.46 per gallon.

Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA, says, “Some holiday troad trippers reported coming across a few gas stations with low fuel. However, this didn’t prevent motorists from finding an available pump and filling up.”

Sunday’s national average of $3.04 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is one cent more than last week, 15 cents more than last month, and $1.07 more than at this same time last year.
