The Atlanta Braves fell to the Washington Nationals 11-6 on Tuesday night in game two of a four game set at Truist Park, evening the series at 1-1.
It was a tough night on the mound for Braves starting pitcher Max Fried, who surrendered five earned runs and six hits, walked a pair, struck out seven, and three wild pitches over just three and two-third innings. He took the loss.
Highlights included a two-run homer from Ronald Acuna Jr in the bottom of the fifth; he is currently tied with Toronto’s Vladimir Guerrero Jr for the most home runs in the majors with 17.
Ryan Zimmerman and Juan Soto each had two-run homers for Washington, whose winning pitcher was Austin Voth. Starter Stephen Strasburg exited the ball game early with tightness in his right shoulder and is set to have an MRI today.
The Braves will face the Nationals again tonight. First pitch is scheduled for 7:20 pm. The game will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 6:05 pm.
