The Coosa River Basin Initiative will benefit from the 2021 Spirit of the Sun Festival and Chieftains Challenge Races scheduled for this Saturday, June 5th. This event is sponsored by River Dog Outpost and Paddle Company to begin this year’s Southern Stoke Paddle Series.
Novice and elite paddlers will hit Rome’s three rivers in an effort to win some great prizes and points. Jesse Demonbreun-Chapman, Executive Director of CRBI, asserts that the event is intended to be a celebration of those rivers and Native American history in our area, as well as an encouragement to get back to nature.
The all-day event will be followed by an after-party with live music at River Dog Outpost.
