SWANSON, ALBIES REACH MILESTONE OF 500 CAREER HITS IN ATLANTA BRAVES WIN OVER WASHINGTON NATIONALS

The Atlanta Braves beat the Washington Nationals 5-1 on Thursday afternoon in the finale of a four-game set at Truist Park; that resulted in a 2-2 split in the series.

Dansby Swanson and Ozzie Albies both reached the milestone of 500 career hits. Swanson’s came in the form of a two-run homer in the Braves’ four-run sixth inning.

Josh Tomlin was credited with the win in relief for Atlanta. Starting pitcher Tucker Davidson surrendered just one hit, walked five, and struck out five in five and two-third scoreless innings. Patrick Corbin was tagged with the loss for DC.

The Braves will open a three-game series against the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers this evening. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:20 pm. That game will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 6:05 pm.
