AAA: GEORGIA’S GAS PRICES HELD STEADY IN THE PAST WEEK

Georgia’s gas prices held steady over the past week, reports AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists statewide pay an average price of $2.91 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline; that is the same as last week, 18 cents more than a month ago, and $1.13 more than at this same time last year.

It now costs $43.65 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline; that’s $6.75 more than what motorists paid in January 2020, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.46 a gallon.

Garrett Townsend, AAA Public Affairs Director, states, “Pump prices usually trickle higher during the summer months due to increased demand. However, if total domestic stocks outpace demand, American motorists will likely see pump prices fluctuate the next coming weeks.”

Sunday’s national average of $3.05 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is one cent more than last week, 11 cents more than last month, and $1.04 more than this time last year.
