ROME’S SPECIAL COMMITTEE ON HOUSING TO MEET TODAY; FLOYD COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO MEET TUESDAY

Rome’s Special Committee on Housing is slated to meet this afternoon in the Sam King Room of City Hall (or the City Auditorium) on Broad Street. That gathering will begin at 4:30 pm.

The committee, chaired by Rome City Commissioner Wendy Davis, has wide representation from varied sectors of the community, states Maia Santamaria, Executive Director of the Northwest Georgia Center for Independent Living, a member of said committee.

The items on the committee’s agenda for today include a recap of the current housing landscape and “workforce housing” parameters, an update on ULDC recommendations, and ideas for new housing incentives.

Floyd County Commissioners are scheduled to meet Tuesday in the county’s Administration Building on East 4th Avenue in downtown Rome. The caucus will be held at 4 pm in the Caucus Room (Suite 204) and will be followed by the board meeting at 6 pm in the Community Room (Suite 206). Each is open to the public. Attendees are asked to follow the latest guidance from the CDC regarding coronavirus preventative measures .
