Prices at the pump held steady in Georgia during the past week, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists across the sate pay the average price of $2.91 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline; that’s the same as last week, seven cents less than last month, and $1.02 more than this time last year.
It now costs $43.65 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline; that’s $6.75 more than what motorists paid in January 2020, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.46 per gallon.
Garrett Townsend, Public Affairs Director, states, “While Georgians continue to see no change at the pump, the national average continues to increase.. As summer travel ramps up, American motorists can expect to see fluctuations through the end of the month as stock prices outperform demand.”
Sunday’s national average of $3.07 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is two cents more than last week, five cents more than last month, and 93 cents more than this time last year.
