ATLANTA BRAVES WRAP UP ROAD TRIP IN VICTORIOUS FASHION

The Atlanta Braves wrapped up a six-game road trip with a victory in Miami over the Marlins by a final score of 6-4 on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a three-game series at Loan Depot Park in Miami, FL. That allowed the Braves to avoid being swept over the weekend in the set among rivals of the National League East, snap a four-game losing streak, and finish up their road trip with a total of two wins and four losses overall.

Austin Riley had a total of three RBIs to include a solo home run in the top of the third inning.

Ender Inciarte had a solo shot in the top of the sixth, his first home run of the year.

Inciarte was put in the Braves’ line up upon the departure of Ronald Acuna Jr. (as a precautionary measure) due to right pectoral tightness.

Drew Smyly was credited with the win for Atlanta (on his 32nd birthday) after surrendering two runs and six hits, walking one, and striking out six over five innings. Will Smith got the save.

Starling Marte drove in three runs for Miami, whose losing pitcher was Pablo Lopez.

The Braves are off today and will open up a six-game homestand on Tuesday night with the first of two interleague games against the Boston Red Sox. The first pitch is slated for 7:20 pm at Truist Park. Listen on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM; air time is 6:05 pm.
