HARBIN CLINIC PEDIATRICIAN DR. TODD KELLEY: PUT KIDS’ SAFETY FIRST THIS SUMMER

Summer is a time for making memories. And this year more than ever, most families are eager to enjoy get togethers, road trips, and outdoor adventures. In the midst of summer madness, it can be easy to overlook important safety guidelines when it comes to the kiddos.

Dr. Todd Kelley, Harbin Clinic Pediatrics, urges all adults to ensure that kids stay properly hydrated, especially when engaging in physical activity during the heaat of the day.

Summer is also a great time to encourage some healthy eating habits among children, adds Dr. Kelley, who recommends that kids (and adults) should opt for fresh fruit and vegetables instead of chips and cookies.

And, of course, pool time is an essential part of summer. Dr. Kelley urges all parents to put pool safety first by constant supervision and even enrolling the kids in swimming lessons.
