ATLANTA BRAVES SWEPT BY BOSTON RED SOX AT TRUIST PARK

The Atlanta Braves fell to the Boston Red Sox 10-8 on Wednesday evening in the finale of a two-game interleague set at Truist Park, which allowed the Red Sox to sweep the brief series (by identical scores).

Dansby Swanson hit a three-run homer off of Garrett Richards which tied the game at 6-6 in bottom of the fifth inning.

The Braves took a 7-6 lead on a solo shot by Freddie Freeman in the bottom of the sixth.

But a pinch hit grand slam from Christian Arroyo off AJ Minter put the Red Sox on top in the top of the seventh.

Shane Greene took the loss for Atlanta, whose starting pitcher Ian Anderson gave up four runs and seven hits, walked one, and struck out five in just four innings of work. Yacksel Rios was credited with the win in relief for Boston; Adam Ottavino got the save.

Atlanta is now five games below .500 with a record of 30-35 and seven and a half games behind the National League East-leading New York Mets.

The Braves will open a four-game set against the St. Louis Cardinals at Truist Park this evening. First pitch is set for 7:20 pm. That game will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 6:05 pm.
