The Health Initiative for Men and Women, presented by 100 Black Men of Rome-Northwest Georgia with assistance by the Northwest Georgia Regional Cancer Coaltion, will return in 2021. The event is slated for Saturday, August 21st from 8 am to noon at the Floyd County Health Department, located at 16 East 12th Street in Rome.
Erin Hernandez, President of the Cancer Coaltion, attests that various health screenings will be offered, along with health-related information from event vendors.
Last year’s Health Initiative was cancelled because of coronavirus concerns. Hernandez asserts that the 100 have been working hard to resume this annual event that has been going strong for two decades.
Hernandez adds that all mammograms ahould be scheduled in advance of the Health Initiative by calling (706) 509-6840 and choosing option one.
