ATLANTA BRAVES SPLIT TWIN BILL IN NEW YORK VERSUS METS

The Atlanta Braves opened an eight game road trip on Monday by splitting a National League East double header versus the New York Mets at Citi Field. The Mets picked up a win in the opener 4-2, while Braves emerged victorious in the nightcap 1-0.

Jacob deGrom was credited with the win, and Edwin Diaz nabbed the save in the first game for New York, whose offensive leader was Dominic Smith with a three-run double in the fifth inning. Kyle Muller was charged with the loss in his first big league start for Atlanta. Ozzie Albies clubbed a two-run homer in the sixth.
