CHARLIE MORTON PICKS UP 100TH CAREER VICTORY AS BRAVES BLANK METS

The Atlanta Braves blanked the New York Mets 3-0 on Tuesday night in the third outing of a four-game National League East set at Citi Field up in New York, which allowed the Braves to take a 2-1 lead in the series.

Charlie Morton picked up his 100th major league win after giving up just one hit, walking none, and striking out 11 in seven scoreless innings. Will Smith got the save for Atlanta.

Dansby Swanson was the Braves’ offensive leader with a three-run homer off of Yennsy Diaz in the top of the third.

The Braves improved to 35-37 on the ’21 season, now four games behind the NL East-leading Mets. The teams will meet in their series finale this evening at 7:10 pm. That outing will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 5:55 pm.
