CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 325 new cases of coronavirus and four more virus-related fatalities were reported across Georgia on Tuesday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 901,472 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll currently stands at 18,407. The number of confirmed cases totaled 10,078 here in Floyd County, which has also had a total of 195 deaths. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 87,857. Fulton County has had the most deaths with 1,348.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard on Tuesday, 8,058,579 vaccines have been administered across the state; 42 percent of all Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 37 percent have been fully vaccinated. Some 34 percent of Floyd County residents have had at least one dose, 31 percent have been fully vaccinated.
