A COMMUNITY CELEBRATION OF BLOOMS ON BROAD SET FOR THIS EVENING

A community celebration of the Blooms on Broad installation in downtown Rome will be hosted by The Community Foundation for Greater Rome this evening at 6:30 pm around Sixth Avenue and Broad Street at the plaza near the Rome City Auditorium.

These planters of seasonal flowers and ornamental plants were gifted by the Foundation, thanks to the support of donors, to the City of Rome to add color and beauty to downtown, states Ashley Garner, Executive Director, who adds that the installation has been around for awhile, but a public launch had been delayed due to coronavirus concerns.

The planters are self-watering and only need to be topped off about once per week, indicates Garner. Maintenance of the planters is now being transferred by the Foundation to the City.

Garner invites the public to attend this evening’s event and bask in the beauty of the flowers.
