CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 320 new cases of coronavirus and 22 more virus-related fatalities were reported in Georgia on Wednesday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 901,723 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll currently stands at 18,426. The number of confirmed cases totaled 10,073 here in Floyd County, which has also had a total of 194 deaths. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 87,870. Fulton County has had the most deaths with 1,350.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard Wednesday, 8,079,139 vaccines have been administered across the state; 42 percent of all Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 37 percent have been fully vaccinated. Some 34 percent of Floyd County residents have had at least one dose, 31 percent have been fully vaccinated.
