ATLANTA BRAVES WRAP UP ROAD TRIP WITH SHUT OUT VICTORY AT CINCY

The Atlanta Braves closed out an eight game road trip with a 4-0 shutout win over the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a four-game set at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, Ohio. That led to an even 2-2 split in the series. The Braves went 4-4 on their road trip.

Ronald Acuna Jr. led the charge offensively with a couple of RBIs to include a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning.

Austin Riley added a solo shot to lead off the sixth. Freddie Freeman had an RBI single in the Braves’ two run third.

Kyle Muller nabbed his first major league win for Atlanta after surrendering just one hit, walking two, and striking out nine over five scoreless innings of work. Tyler Mahle took the loss for Cincinnati.

The Braves are off today and will return to Truist Park on Tuesday evening to open a six game homestand with the first of three outings against the NL East leading New York Mets. First pitch is scheduled for 7:20 pm. The game will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 6:05 pm.
