ATLANTA BRAVES TALLY 20 RUNS IN VICTORY OVER NEW YORK METS

The Atlanta Braves crushed the New York Mets 20-2 on Wednesday night in the middle outing of a three-game set at Truist Park, which evened the series at a game apiece.

Ozzie Albies led the charge with career highs of five hits and seven RBIs to include two home runs. His second homer of the night drove in three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Ronald Acuna Jr clubbed a homerun to lead off the bottom of the first. Ehire Adrianza added a pinch-hit solo shot in the seventh.

Max Fried was the winning pitcher for Atlanta (in his return from the injured list) after surrendering two runs and three hits, walking two, and striking out seven in five innings.

David Peterson took the loss for New York, whose lone offensive highlight of the night was a two run homer by Pete Alonso off Fried in the first.

The Braves are now in third place of the National League East, four and half games behind the division-leading Mets. The teams will meet this evening in their series finale. First pitch is set for 7:20 pm. The game will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 6:05 pm.
