ATLANTA BRAVES DROP SECOND STRAIGHT TO PITTSBURGH PIRATES ON WALK-OFF WALK

The Altanta Braves fell to the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1 on Tuesday night in the second outing of a three-game set at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, PA; it allowed the Pirates to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

Pittsburgh jumped on the board first in the bottom of the third inning on a sac fly by Bryan Reynolds off of Ian Anderson. Atlanta tied it at 1-1 in the top of the fifth on a solo home run by Orlando Arcia; that was his first homerun in a Braves uniform.

But the Pirates secured the walk-off win on a bases-loaded walk by Reynolds off of Tyler Matzek in the bottom of the ninth.

Matzek was charged with the loss. Anderson, Atlanta’s starter, gave up just a run and five hits, walked three, and struck out four over five innings of work. Richard Rodriguez picked up the win in relief for Pittsburgh.

The Braves hope to avoid being swept by the Pirates as the teams meet in the series finale today at 12:35 pm in Pittsburgh. The game will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 11:20 am.
