Georgia’s gas prices have risen during the past week, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists are paying the average price of $2.93 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline. That’s two cents higher than one week ago, two cents higher than last month, and 94 cents more than this time last year.
It now costs $43.95 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline; that’s $7.05 more than what Georgia motorists paid back in January 2020, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.46 a gallon.
Garrett Townsend, AAA Public Affairs Director, indicates that, “Georgians have seen prices hold steady at the pump for the past few weeks. However, motorists can expect increases at the pump through the end of the month as peak driving season continues and demand grows.”
Sunday’s national average of $3.14 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is one cent more than last week, seven cents more than last month, and 95 cents more than this time last year.
