ATLANTA BRAVES RETURN TO ACTION AT TRUIST PARK OVER THE WEEKEND VERSUS TAMPA BAY RAYS

The MLB All Star Break is over, and the Atlanta Braves will be back on the field tonight at Truist Park to open up a six-game homestand with the first of three interleague matches against the Tampa Bay Rays. Charlie Morton will serve as the starting pitcher for Atlanta, while Michael Wacha will head to the mound for Tampa Bay. First pitch is scheduled for 7:20 pm. The outing will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 6:05 pm from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.

Bringing the play-by-play story of Atlanta Braves baseball to listeners around the southeast has been a ‘big thrill’ for announcer Ben Ingram, who is now in his 11th season with the network and his 3rd season calling the play-by-play on a regular basis. He says it’s so much fun, it doesn’t feel like work.

In other news from the Braves, the team has acquired outfielder Joc Pederson from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for prospect Bryce Ball. Prior to signing a contract with the Cubs in this past offseason, Pederson spent seven seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, with whom he won the World Series title back in 2020.
