LOCAL NON-PROFIT BRIGHTER BIRTHDAYS LOOKS FORWARD TO A RETURN TO IN-PERSON VISITS, SEEKS DONATIONS

Local non-profit Brighter Birthdays looks forward to returning to in-person visits at local schools during the 2021-2022 school year. The organization, which helps under-resourced kids to celebrate birthdays through delivery of backpacks filled with toys and living essentials, benefits from this in-person interaction, says founder Cristin Warden.

Brighter Birthdays aims to provide backpacks to 2,500 students this year. It primarily serves Rome and Floyd County, but plans to expand to some of the surrounding area in the near future. Volunteers are in the midst of putting the backpacks together and could use some donations of school supplies such as ballpoint pens, asserts Warden, who adds that party supplies and Ziploc bags are also requested from donors at this time.

Those in search of volunteer hours may assist with packing these backpacks. For more information, reach out to Brighter Birthdays via its Facebook page. The organization’s website is www.brighterbirthdays.org.
