ATLANTA BRAVES’ SERIES OPENER VERSUS SAN DIEGO PADRES POSTPONED DUE TO RAIN

Inclement weather led to the postponement of Monday night’s Atlanta Braves game versus the San Diego Padres at Truist Park. It will be made up as a part of a day-night double header on Wednesday. First pitch of game one is slated for 12:20 pm, with game two scheduled for 5:20 pm.

Hopefully the rain will not prevent the Braves and Padres from opening their three game series tonight. Kyle Muller will be the starting pitcher for Atlanta, while Yu Darvish will head to the mound for San Diego. The first pitch is set for 7:20 pm. That game will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM; air time is 6:05 pm from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.

Atlanta is 45-47 on the season and in third place of the National League East, four and a half games behind the division-leading New York Mets. They fell to the Tampa Bay Rays 7-5 in their most recent game on Sunday afternoon at Truist Park, which allowed the Rays to take the three-game weekend set 2-1.

And in roster moves from the Atlanta Braves, pitchers Kyle Muller and Sean Newcomb were both recalled from Triple A Gwinnett on Monday. Outfielder Ender Inciarte was placed on the COVID-19 injured list (though he has tested negative for the virus). Pitcher AJ Minter was optioned to Gwinnett following Sunday’s loss to Tampa.
