CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

According to the latest update from the Georgia Department of Public Health this past Friday afternoon, 917,915 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported statewide since the beginning of the pandemic. The state’s death toll currently stands at 18,663. Floyd County has had a total of 10,237 confirmed cases and 196 deaths. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 88,983. Fulton County has had the most deaths with 1,373.

As of the most recent update to the DPH’s vaccine dashboard this past Friday, 8,619,042 vaccines have been administered across the state; 45 percent of all Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 40 percent have been fully vaccinated.

The COVID-19 Daily Status Report and the vaccine dashboard are now only updated on the weekdays, not on weekends or holidays. Both may be viewed on the Georgia Department of Public Health website, www.dph.georgia.gov.
