REGISTRATION CONTINUES FOR THE GARY TILLMAN MEMORIAL CLOCKTOWER 5K ROAD RACE AND TWO-MILE HEALTH WALK TO BENEFIT EXCHANGE CLUB FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER

The 36th annual Gary Tillman Memorial Clocktower 5K Road Race and Two-Mile Health Walk is slated to take place on Saturday, August 21st as a benefit for the Exchange Club Family Resource Center.

Jason Sanker, Race Co-Director, asserts that he is happy that the annual event has been moved back to August in ’21 after being held in November last year due to coronavirus concerns.

The 5K race is scheduled to begin at 8 am with the two-mile health walk to immediately follow. Participants will gather at Heritage Park.

This 5K is a chip-timed event on a USATF certified course, indicates Sanker; it is also a qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race.

Pre-registration discounts are available through August 12th at the cost of $30 per runner and $25 per walker. Late registration from August 13th to 17th will cost $35 per runner and $30 per walker. All teams of 10 or more are offered a discount of $3 per person; the registration for each team must be submitted together no later than August 12th. Registration and information is available online at www.tillmanclocktowerrace.org or www.frcrome.org.

The beneficiary of the ‘Tillman Race’, the Exchange Club Family Resource Center, is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2021. Proceeds will facilitate the center’s mission of child abuse prevention, says Sanker.

On average, 500 runners and walkers participate in the event. All questions should be directed to race organizers at [email protected] or (404) 723-7732.
