The Hospitality House for Women, Inc.’s Thrift Store, 610 Shorter Avenue in Rome, is seeking new volunteers. A volunteer event, “Time for Clothes”, has been set for this Friday from 10 am to 4 pm. Alice Towe, store manager, says that for every hour donated to the store, volunteers will receive a voucher for a free bag of clothing.
Towe asserts that a volunteer application and shopping will be offered online by the store in the not-too-distant future.
A Christmas in July sale continues at the store through the end of this month. Towe urges those in search of ornaments or even a Santa Claus suit to stop by and check out the items on sale.
The Hospitality House Thrift Store is now open to the public every Tuesday through Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and every Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. The proceeds go towards the Hospitality House for Women, Inc.’s mission to provide assistance to local survivors of domestic violence.
