The First Friday concert series will return to the Town Green in downtown Rome this Friday night. The free concert will begin at 7 pm and will feature the music of ’80s cover band Electric Avenue.
Megan Otwell, PR Director for Rome’s Downtown Development Authority, anticipates a fun night on the Town Green.
The purpose of events such as the First Friday concerts is to drive people to downtown Rome for the benefit of businesses in the area, says Aundi Lesley, DDA Director.
These events are free to the public, thanks to the financial support of BID (or the downtown Business Improvement District), adds Otwell.
Downtown businesses will be participating in open container throughout the BID District; no outside coolers or drinks will be permitted. Parking will be free at the 4th Avenue and 3rd Avenue parking decks.
The final First Friday concert of ’21 set for Friday, September 3rd will feature the music of Kindred Fire.
