CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 10,006 new cases of coronavirus and 30 more virus-related deaths were reported across Georgia on Monday by the state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 963,802 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll currently stands at 18,856. The number of confirmed cases totaled 10,462 here in Floyd County, which has also had a total of 202 deaths. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 91,541. Fulton County has had the most deaths with 1,386.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard on Monday, 8,982,681 vaccines have been administered across the state; 47 percent of all Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 41 percent have been fully vaccinated. In Floyd County, 37 percent of all residents have had at least one dose and 33 percent have been fully vaccinated.
