FLOYD COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO GET UPDATE ON SPLOST PROJECTS, TACKLE REZONING REQUESTS THIS EVENING

Floyd County Commissioners will get a report on SPLOST (Special Purpose, Local Option Sales Tax) projects during their regular meeting this evening, as indicated by Chairman Wright Bagby, who indicates that collections for these projects are ahead of schedule.

Commissioners will also tackle a host of rezoning requests; Bagby indicates that this is indicative of a healthy economy.

As usual, Commissioners will gather at the county’s Administration Building on East 4th Avenue. The caucus will begin at 4 pm in the Caucus Room (Suite 204), their meeting will follow at 6 pm in the Community Room (Suite 206). An update on PAWS (Public Animal Welfare Services) is slated to take place at the caucus. View the full agenda at www.romefloyd.com.

Both of this evening’s gatherings are open to the public. Those in attendance are asked to follow the latest guidance by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention by wearing masks and following social distancing guidelines.

The Floyd County Board of Elections will also meet today in the Community Room of the county’s Administration Building. Caucus will start at 11:30 am with the meeting to immediately follow.
