FGK’S KICKBACK TO THE COMMUNITY SILENT AUCTION TO RAISE FUNDS (AND AWARENESS) FOR LOCAL NON-PROFITS

Today marks the first day of bidding in the Kickback to the Community silent auction hosted annually by Ford, Gittings & Kane Jewelers, 312 Broad Street in downtown Rome.

The football-themed auction raises funds (and awareness) for local non-profit agencies, says Jan Ferguson, FGK Gemologist, who adds that 1,000 bid cards are available for the cost of $10 each at the store (and at various participating nonprofits). The proceeds from the sale of the bid cards will go to the charity of the purchaser’s choice. The beneficiaries for this year include the Mission IS Possible Foundation, Brighter Birthdays, Chieftains Museum/Major Ridge Home, and the South Rome Alliance.

Any non-profit may benefit from this silent auction of fine jewelry, indicates Ferguson. The 501c3 organizations will additionally receive 10 percent of the proceeds from each item sold in the auction, which will end promptly at 2 pm on Saturday, August 21st.

Consumers have the option to ‘buy it now’ if they hope to avert the risk of not being the highest bidder on any particular item.
