HABITAT FOR HUMANITY – COOSA VALLEY LOOKS FORWARD TO INTRODUCING NEW PARTNER FAMILIES AT ANNUAL MEETING ON MONDAY EVENING

Habitat for Humanity – Coosa Valley plans to introduce the inhabitants of its 58th and 59th builds to the public at its Annual Meeting on Monday evening at 6 pm at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, located at 101 East 4th Avenue in Rome. Betsy Allgood, Executive Director, states that partner families, the Chambers and the Bowers, were announced last week on social media.

A groundbreaking for the homes will be held upon the conclusion of the land survey of each property. Allgood welcomes assistance from anyone wishing to pitch in their time, talents, and money to the builds. She hopes that both of the houses will be completed within the next 12 months.

Both families have already begun investing sweat equity towards their builds via community service, says Allgood.

Habitat homeowners are also required to repay their no-interest mortgages, indicates Allgood, who adds that assistance from her organization is a ‘hand-up, not a hand-out’.

Also during the Habitat for Humanity – Coosa Valley’s Annual Meeting, the accomplishments of the past year will be celebrated and their volunteers will be honored.
