CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total of 4,962 new cases of coronavirus and 43 more virus-related fatalities were reported in Georgia on Wednesday by this state’s Department of Public Health.

According to the latest report by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 1,005,806 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide since the beginning of this pandemic. The state’s death toll now stands at 19,087. The number of confirmed cases totaled 11,006 here in Floyd County, which has also had 204 fatalities. Gwinnett County has had the most confirmed cases in the state with 93,381. Fulton County has had the most deaths with 1,396.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard Wednesday, 9,267,742 vaccines have been administered across the state; 49 percent of all Georgians have received at least a dose of the vaccine, while 42 percent have been fully vaccinated.
