OPTIONS ABOUND FOR JOBSEEKERS IN ROME, FLOYD COUNTY, PER ROME-FLOYD CHAMBER

Options abound for jobseekers in Rome and Floyd County as companies seek to fill positions available.

Pam Powers-Smith, who serves as Director of Business and Industry for the Rome-Floyd Chamber, directs all workers in search of gainful employment to the Jobs page on the Chamber’s website at www.romega.com.

There has been an uptick in jobseekers in recent days amid the decision from Governor Brian Kemp to cease Georgia’s participation in federal coronavirus unemployment relief at the end of June.

A Manufacturing Job Fair was held on Wednesday by the Chamber’s Greater Rome Existing Industries Association on the Georgia Northwestern Technical College campus. Powers-Smith anticipates another job fair to be held for the medical field in the not too distant future. The Chamber is willing to help the restaurant and retail industry, too, if they need it.

The law enforcement community is also in search of reliable employees, says Powers-Smith.

Local jobseekers may reach out to the Rome-Floyd Chamber via telephone at (706) 291-7663 for further assistance.
